GHPAC is building its Executive Council for the 2026–2028 term. We are seeking dedicated Ghanaian American professionals to serve in leadership, operations, policy, communications, and community roles.

About the Council

Leadership. Operations. Impact.

The Executive Council functions as the leadership and operations team of the Ghana Diaspora Public Affairs Collective. This council includes both paid and non-paid roles — staffed by professionals who provide services in exchange for exclusive voting privileges and organizational benefits.

Executive Council members oversee key areas including policy, government affairs, communications, partnerships, organizing, finance, and program implementation. Members work in close coordination with the CEO and Founding Council to translate GHPAC's vision into action.

Voting privileges include the power to nominate members to the Board of Advisors and Leadership Council, form Executive Council committees and taskforces, and participate in crafting Strategic Documents.

Chief Executive Officer Closed

Chiefly responsible for carrying out strategic plans, policies, and activities as established by the organization and approved by the Founding Council, Board of Advisors, and Donor Council. Sets the direction and oversees operations of the organization.

Responsibilities include: providing inspired leadership company-wide; making high-level decisions about policy and strategy; developing and implementing operational policies and a strategic plan; acting as the primary spokesperson; overseeing fiscal activity including budgeting, reporting, and auditing; and building alliances and partnerships.

Responsible for all hires. Provides annual strategy to Board of Advisors, Founding Council, and Donor Council. Supervises Foundation Executive Director and PAC Executive Directors.

Chief Operating Officer Closed
COO · Paid · Washington, D.C.

Serves as Chief of Staff — part advisor, part gatekeeper, part problem solver, and part all-round strategic partner of the CEO. Collaborates with the CEO to ensure all program initiatives align with the organization's core values and culture.

Serves as the internal leader of the organization, supervising internal operations and coordinating the annual operations plan. Synthesizes and manages all reports from personnel and handles administrative aspects including annual and biennial report documentation.

Supervises Director of Operations, Legal Counsel, Administrative Manager, and Intern program.

Tasked with the responsibility of seeing to the organization's development and success. Works with CEO & COO to create five- and ten-year plans for growth and short and long-term strategies to ensure organizational success.

Works with senior stakeholders to build alliances and partnerships. Supervises U.S. Policy Director, Ghana Policy Director, Director of Program Development, and Director of Partnerships/Alliances.

Chief Financial Officer
CFO · Paid · Washington, D.C.

Responsible for the business development of the organization. Leads development and implementation of two- and four-year revenue strategies that underpin strategic goals to accelerate income growth across diverse income streams.

Oversees cash flow management, develops and monitors the annual budget, informs key stakeholders of financial status, presents annual financial statements, and coordinates audit activities. Supervises the finance team including Director of Fundraising and Director of Membership.

Foundation Executive Director Closed

Responsible for leading the Forward Ever Collective Foundation and implementation of its activities in a manner that supports and guides the organization's mission. Oversees and manages the foundation's day-to-day activities including marketing, fundraising, program development, and budget requests.

Engages with stakeholders and partners as official representative of the Foundation. Responsible for communicating effectively with the CEO and Executive Council. Oversees all Foundation meetings and serves as spokesperson for the Foundation.

PAC Executive Director — U.S.

Oversees, manages, and coordinates PAC activities in the United States including all PAC U.S. chapters. Responsible for developing PAC U.S. strategy and supervising PAC U.S. activities, personnel, and volunteers.

Engages with stakeholders and partners as official representative of the PAC's U.S. activities. Serves as spokesperson for U.S. PAC activities. Responsible for procuring and reviewing contracts for CEO approval.

PAC Executive Director — Ghana
PAC Ghana · Paid · Ghana

Oversees, manages, and coordinates PAC activities in Ghana. Responsible for supervising PAC Ghana activities, personnel, and volunteers. Engages with stakeholders and partners as official representative of the PAC's Ghana activities.

Serves as spokesperson for PAC Ghana activities. Responsible for communicating effectively with the CEO and Executive Council. Responsible for procuring and reviewing contracts for CEO approval.

Directors & Counsel

Executive Council Directors serve in appointed leadership roles on a voluntary basis, contributing their expertise to advance GHPAC's national and global mission.

U.S. Policy Director
Policy

Develops relationships with Congressional offices and executive branch officials in support of GHPAC's federal policy strategies. Monitors and responds to federal legislative activity including bill introductions, Congressional hearings, and other activities.

Analyzes legislation and drafts internal and external policy and advocacy materials. Manages all aspects of periodic federal DC Hill days, Hill briefings, and the relationship with the Congressional Black Caucus Annual Legislative Conference.

Ghana Policy Director
Ghana Affairs

Responsible for maintaining in-depth awareness of external political and economic factors in Ghana and creating effective strategies to support GHPAC's mission. Establishes public and government affairs strategies, plans, and budgets at the country level.

Builds relationships with external stakeholders in Ghana including community members, government representatives, and non-profit organizations. Manages all aspects of the planning of annual policy meetings and activities in Ghana.

Director of Operations
Operations

Analyzes and improves organizational processes, working to improve quality, productivity, and efficiency. Develops and implements systems for reporting. Coordinates and facilitates Executive Council meetings. Functions as Sergeant in Arms.

Manages training and professional development opportunities for leadership. Handles administrative aspects including annual and biennial report documentation. Supports Executive Council communication with the Founding Council.

Director of Communications
Communications

Responsible for planning, development, and implementation of all of GHPAC's marketing strategies, communications, and public relations activities, both external and internal. Directs the efforts of the marketing and communications staff.

Key point of contact for all major internal and external relationships. Oversees major marketing campaigns. Implements, monitors, and evaluates marketing communications strategy including advertising, promotions, and public relations. Works with Events Manager and Finance team on annual budgets.

Director of Fundraising
Development

Develops fundraising strategies, formulates solicitation procedures, and oversees fundraising activities. Identifies new donor bases, directs and coordinates solicitation of funds. Acts as liaison with funding partners and organizations. Leads grant-writing efforts.

Director of Organizing
Community

Supervises, trains, develops, and supports community organizers to reach organizational goals. Plans and executes high-impact grassroots organizing programs that result in immediate-term success and long-term capacity building.

Assists in planning nationwide campaigns and major state and regional campaigns and events. Closely tracks political developments and identifies strategic organizing and advocacy opportunities. Helps shape grassroots engagement on key political issues and pending legislation.

Legal Counsel
Legal

Provides oversight and direction for organizational legal compliance. Represents the organization during litigation and aids in complex legal decision-making and negotiations. Provides accurate and timely counsel to leadership on a variety of legal topics.

Applies effective risk management techniques and offers proactive advice on possible legal issues. Drafts documents including statements, contracts, and agreements that represent the organization's best interests.

Membership & Chapter Director
Membership

Develops a membership development plan on an annual basis that outlines key membership targets, tactics of engagement, and desired outcomes regarding individual member retention, recruitment, and reenrollment based on industry best practices.

Creates and implements ongoing membership activities. Analyzes results of recruitment, retention, and reenrollment efforts; provides monthly updates to CFO.

In addition, the Membership & Chapter Director serves as the primary Chapter Liaison, coordinating across GHPAC's regional chapters to strengthen alignment, communication, and programmatic consistency. The role also leads the organization of chapter structures and responsibilities, supporting the development, activation, and performance of chapter leadership across key markets.

The Membership & Chapter Director works closely with leadership to build a scalable membership infrastructure, deepen member value, and translate engagement into sustained civic participation, advocacy, and community impact.

Partnerships & Alliance Director
Partnerships

Serves as primary liaison with the Leadership Council. Responsible for expanding community relations and informing partners of strategic business goals. Works closely with CDO to define short- and long-term policies and strategies.

Builds relationships with and responsiveness to the fields of practice relevant to the mission. Identifies ideal partners and leaders, drafts invitations, and manages relationships.

Research Director
Research

Expertise or interest in migration, Ghanaians in the diaspora, and/or immigration and emigration policies. Interest and expertise in polling, survey, or market research is a plus. Interest and expertise in Ghanaian history is a plus.

Directs and implements research and development policies, objectives, and initiatives. Designs and implements research protocols or projects. Provides relevant statistical information to support the organization's policy and advocacy work.

Events Director
Events

Plans and organizes conferences, seminars, exhibitions, promotional, business, and social events. Responsible for running a range of events ensuring the target audience is engaged and the message is marketed properly.

Produces detailed proposals for events including timelines, venues, suppliers, legal obligations, staffing, and budgets. Manages the entire process from planning through execution and post-event evaluation.

Social Media Manager
Content

Responsible for planning, developing, and implementing the overall content strategy. Manages the creation and production of online and offline marketing content. Develops editorial calendar and works with writers, freelancers, and contributors.

Edits and revises content, undertakes content marketing initiatives to achieve targets while delivering engaging content on a regular basis. Responsible for social media posts and graphic design.

Mentorship Director
Youth

Develops and conducts programs and activities for high school and 18–24 young adult members of the Ghanaian diaspora community.

Administrative Manager
Administration

Manages the master calendar of activities and supports internal communications. Prepares agendas and manages all logistics for Executive Team meetings. Manages mailing list, correspondence, and mail.

Board Secretary
Governance

Facilitates communication and ensures proper management and utilization of important organizational records with the Board of Advisors. Ensures all rules and bylaws of the organization are adhered to by the board during meetings and the implementation of board decisions.

Serves as an active conduit for communication between the board and Founding Council by giving proper notice of meetings and timely distribution of materials such as agendas and meeting minutes.
